That’s a Wrap! – Glutes Month Comes to a Close
Glutes Month - That's All Folks!
February 28, 2021

Unfortunately, Glutes Month has come to an end. I hope you have enjoyed learning more about this powerhouse muscle group!

On a personal note, some of the things I’ve shared this month have been based on my own experience. Here’s my story.

As far as I can determine, a fall on the ice a while back prevented my glute muscles from working correctly. It “turned off” my glutes, so the other smaller muscles have been nicely trying to help out since then.

As a result, I began experiencing discomfort in my lower back, hip, knee, hamstrings, and ankle. More recently, I also started to deal with pain. And as much as I tried to do what I knew might help and did receive some chiropractic care, it didn’t improve.

So I sought out a different chiropractic technique as well as acupuncture treatment. I then found out that the right hip was basically immobile, and my glutes weren’t working. It also confirmed my suspicion that the muscles around it were trying to compensate.

My body appears to be responding fairly well to this treatment, and I’ve made some progress. But I still have a lot of glute muscle strengthening homework to do!

The Moral of the Story (Well, Two Really . . .)

So why am I sharing this with you? There are two reasons. First, I want you to know that I understand what you’re going through if you’re dealing with something similar. It stinks!

And the second reason is that if you’re having pain or discomfort, it’s crucial to seek professional medical attention to find a treatment that works well for your body. I needed someone to diagnose the problem and fix the structure first before anything else would work. If you find yourself in a similar situation, please don’t put it off!

I know I tell you to get medical advice and care if something is wrong. Most of you aren’t doctors (and you don’t play one on TV 😉), so get yourself evaluated. Don’t let one problem cascade into many.

Okay, I’m getting off my soapbox now!

I hope all of the information I have provided to you during Glutes Month has been helpful. Remember, you can find more tips and resources about your glutes (and other topics) on my Facebook page. Check it out!

I’m sad to see Glutes Month end, but no worries! I have so many other things to share with you. And that’s exciting!
