It’s All About the “Why”
Nov 03, 2019I was looking through some photo albums and came across this picture. It was during a period of my life when I was very unhappy with many areas of my life.
As I continued looking through the album, I realized that I hid a lot. I strategically placed my kids in front of me when I could. The photos documented my struggle with weight gain and showed my weight loss only to be followed by gains again.
The truth was that my unhealthy lifestyle was directly related to how I felt about myself. It wasn’t as much about what and how much I ate as it was why I did this.
For me and maybe some of you, it is all about the “why”. Once I was able to figure that out, I made the choice to address those areas. This process took many years of challenging work.
It was not easy but it has been well worth the effort. I am a different person than I was in that picture on so many levels. I am not where I want to be but I continue to move toward that.
